Our Mission

Leon County Special Services Cooperative (LCSSC) provides special education services to children (ages 3-21) with disabilities to meet their specific educational needs. Services are provided in a variety of settings, including: general education, in-class assistance, resource classrooms, and special education classrooms.

Special education services are offered at no cost to parents. The instruction offered through special education has been changed in content, methodology, or delivery of instruction to address the specific needs of each child to ensure access of the child to the general curriculum so that he or she can meet the educational standards set by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).

The mission of Leon County Special Services is to have an active partnership with all school personnel, students and the community. We will nurture individuals and provide an educational foundation that enables students to have the ability to think, communicate, create and apply their learning experiences throughout their lifetime.
